The first person to be initiated into the lodge was the settler and plantation founder Noble Jones.[3] Many influential local politicians were members of Solomon's Lodge, including Joseph Habersham (US postmaster general), George Handley (Governor or Georgia) and Henry Osborne (judge and delegate to the Continental Congress). It has often been confused with Solomon's Lodge in Charleston, South Carolina, also a founding lodge for that state that was founded in the same year.[4] References1. ^{{cite book|last=Hirschfeld|first=Fritz |authorlink=|coauthors=|title=George Washington and The Jews|publisher=University of Delaware Press|year=2005|location=|pages=26|url=|doi=|id=|isbn=0-87413-927-9}} {{freemasonry-stub}}{{GeorgiaUS-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.glofga.org/history.html|title=Our History|publisher=Grand Lodge of Georgia|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20080915064305/http://www.glofga.org/history.html|archivedate=2008-09-15|df=}} 3. ^1 {{cite book|last=Tatsch|first=J.
