The community's school closed due to a lack of students, who are now bused 27.1 km (16.8 mi) to Langenburg, Saskatchewan) In 2016, the population was 168, down 17.6% from 2011.^[1]

The Northland Power - Spy Hill Power Plant is located in the community.
