He also claims that the mixture of "typically super-pretty shojo manga art with demon-fighting" is a "fun read". He also likens the series to a root beer float, "At some point, you might be too old to have such a really sweet treat in an extra-large size, but it is still sooooo good". Several times, he said that although the series was intended for younger girls, it would also appeal older readers.[4][5][6] Deb Aoki of About.com considered this as a perfect series for tweens with "charming art, simple stories and chaste romance."[7] Ed Sizemore of Manga Worth Reading felt that Matsumoto managed to create a cast of wholesome people that aren't boring", but was frustrated by the main characters' refusal to admit their mutual attraction to each another.[8] Anime News Network's Carlo Santos disliked the first volume, considering it episodic and formulaic nature, similar to other high school romances, and having ordinary art work.[9] References1. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.viz.com/st-dragon-girl |title=The Official Website for St. ♥ Dragon Girl |publisher=Viz Media |accessdate=December 13, 2017}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://viz.com/products/products.php?product_id=7358 |title=St. Dragon Girl, Vol. 1 |publisher=Viz Media |accessdate=December 13, 2009 }} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://viz.com/products/products.php?product_id=7362|title=St. Dragon Girl Volume 5 |publisher=Viz Media|accessdate=December 12, 2009}} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.comicbookbin.com/stdragongirl001.html |title=St. Dragon Girl: Volume 1 |first=Leroy |last=Douresseaux |publisher=Comic Book Bin |date=November 29, 2008 |accessdate=June 10, 2009}} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.comicbookbin.com/stdragongirl002.html|title=St. Dragon Girl: Volume 2 |first=Leroy |last=Douresseaux |publisher=Comic Book Bin |date=April 27, 2009 |accessdate=June 10, 2009}} 6. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.comicbookbin.com/stdragongirl003.html |first=Leroy |last=Douresseaux |title=St. Dragon Girl: Volume 3 |publisher=Comic Book Bin|date=June 4, 2009 |accessdate=June 10, 2009}} 7. ^{{cite web |url=http://manga.about.com/od/vizmedia/gr/StDragonGirl1.htm |title=St. Dragon Girl Volume 1 |first=Deb |last=Aoki |publisher=About.com |accessdate=December 13, 2009 }} 8. ^{{cite web |url=http://comicsworthreading.com/2009/06/03/st-dragon-girl-books-1-3/ |title=St. Dragon Girl Books 1-3 |first=Ed |last=Sizemore |publisher=Comics Worth Reading |work=Manga Worth Reading |date=June 3, 2009 |accessdate=December 13, 2009 }} 9. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/st-dragon-girl/gn-1 |title=St. Dragon Girl GN 1 |first=Carlo |last=Santos |publisher=Anime News Network |date=December 12, 2008 |accessdate=December 13, 2009 }} External links
