It is a mixed Comprehensive and Community College. In September 2002 Stopsley High became a designated Specialist Sports College. It was re-designated in 2007 with Music nominated as its second subject.[1] The former regional sports centre, one of the biggest in Bedfordshire, was close to the school, but has been replaced by the Inspire Luton Sports Village located on Hitchin Rd. UniformThe main colours of Stopsley High Schools uniform are black and blue. Boys wear black trousers and girls have the option of black trousers or a black skirt. Unlike many high schools Stopsley students have the option of wearing a polo shirt or a shirt. The tie that goes with the shirt is black with blue stripes. Both the polo shirt and shirt can be accompanied by a Black jumper with the Stopsley motif on the left breast. Their athletic vests are All black with the stopsley blue logo on it Since the 2017-2018 academic year, the uniform has changed to match the new logo, the yellow in the uniform being replaced by blue. The PE tops are now black with white accents with the new logo on the left breast. BSFTFAs a part of Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme the school is being expanded from a capacity of 990 to 1350.[2][3] The current Headteacher is Karen Johns. Notable StudentsMonty Panesar former member of the English Cricket team with 50 test match caps and 26 ODI caps attended Stopsley High School. Television personality and documentary film maker Stacey Dooley went to the school. References
