It opened on 4 October 1886 and was a temporary terminus of a branch line from Willoughby. Two years later the line was extended to Mablethorpe. It closed in 1970 and the track was removed a few years after closure.[1] The site is now lost under housing and a road alignment. {{Disused Rail Start}}{{Rail line|previous=Mumby RoadLine and station closed |next=Mablethorpe Line and station closed |route=Great Northern Railway Mablethorpe Loop |col={{GNR colour}} }}{{rail end}} References1. ^http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/s/sutton_on_sea/index.shtml {{Closed stations Lincolnshire}}{{EastMidlands-railstation-stub}}{{Lincolnshire-railstation-stub}} 5 : Disused railway stations in Lincolnshire|Former Great Northern Railway stations|Railway stations opened in 1886|Railway stations closed in 1970|Beeching closures in England |
