HistorySwim Coots Mill was built in the early nineteenth century. It was marked on the 1838 Ordnance Survey map. The mill was working until at least the 1930s[1] but was derelict by 1978.[1] The mill has since been conserved, with the tower roofed over.[2] Description{{for|an explanation of the various pieces of machinery|Mill machinery}}Swim Coots mill is a two storey tower mill which formerly had a boat shaped cap winded by a fantail. It had four double Patent sails. The tower is {{convert|15|ft|m|2}} diameter at the base and {{convert|19|ft|m|2}} high to curb level. It drove a {{convert|5|ft|2|in|m|2}} diameter scoopwheel housed internally.
