Tamman (Urdu, Punjabi: ٹمن) is located 30 km to the west of Talagang City. Mianwali city is just 70 km from Tamman. The main agricultural products of Tamman are wheat, groundnut and chickpea. It is also famous in the whole country for the unique taste of groundnut being produced there. The language spoken here is the Dhanni dialect of Punjabi. It has a population of more than 15,000 people. Most of the people are farmers, businessmen, and serving in armed forces of Pakistan. Politically, Tamman is the centre of PMLN and Qauid Azam League of Chaudhary Parvez Ilahi. The seat of National Assembly NA 61 is always won by Sardars of Tamman since 1966. It is a city of multitalented people. The hero of 1965 War, Air Marshal Malik Noor Khan, belongs to Tamman, and his grave is also there. The most honorable and first professor of Tamman was Noor ul Hassan Khan; he is the son of Imam Ghazali (greatest Islamic scholar). The professor is buried in Masjid Al Hilal Shadhara Lahore.
