The first series of Tangle, an Australian drama television series, began airing on 1 October 2009 on Showcase. Season one of Tangle explores the intertwined lives of two families, who sometimes connect and sometimes clash as they journey through life together. It concluded on 26 November 2009 after 10 episodes.

The season was released on DVD as a three disc set under the title of Tangle: Series 1 on 15 April 2010.

| ShortSummary = Tim Williams has the world at his feet. Tipped for a top job in Cabinet, he is well on his way to becoming Premier. With a happy marriage, a good relationship with his teenage son and respect from his peers, his future is looking great. There is one little problem: 15 years ago, Tim had a brief, ill judged affair with drug-loving wild-child Nat Manning. The affair ended in pregnancy. After confessing to his wife Christine, they patched up their marriage and fought bitterly for custody of the child, Max. Nat moved to London and has barely been heard from since. Now 10 years on, she is back.

When a party at the dead man's house is interrupted by the police, Max calls Nat trying to avoid implicating his father, Tim. But this only builds Christine's insecurities over Nat's growing presence in Max's life.

| ShortSummary = Tim's loyalty is tested when he is tapped to become Health Minister, but only if he deposes his mentor, Pat Mahady. The parents hold a crisis meeting, in shock over their kids' involvement with the dead body. Vince buys political leverage with Tim by blackmailing political journo Bryan Dougherty to prevent the story breaking and Max unravels when Romeo wins Charlotte.
