He is best known for writing the long-running shōnen manga series Kōtarō Makaritōru! and its two sequels, Shin Kōtarō Makaritōru! and Kōtarō Makaritōru! L. In 1986, he won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen for Kōtarō Makaritōru!.^[1]
