Teleexpo ({{lang-ru|Телеэкспо}}) was one of the first commercial television channels in Russia. It was founded by the government of Moscow and by the commercial house Mosexpo. It began broadcasting on March 1, 1995 on Channel 33 on the UHF band. It was distributed only by the air on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow Region on the 5th channel, blocking from 1995 to 1997 the broadcasts of the Petersburg-Fifth Channel television company, and from 1997 to 2001 - the Kultura TV channel.

History

Initially, much of the material broadcast were TV shops, musical or entertainment programs, soap operas, videoclips and concerts. The station was broadcast in Moscow on Channel 5 and blocked the reception of Petersburg Channel 5 in the Moscow area. The time of broadcasting was initially from 00:30 to 12:30 daily.

From April 1, 1998, a number of programs appeared with a parallel BIZ-TV logo, previously broadcasting at 2x2, and in the summer of the same year, the air consisted almost entirely of those programs that then became an integral part of the MTV Russia TV channel in its first three - four years of broadcasting.

Since September 26, 1998, the broadcasting of Teleexpo's own programs was discontinued, according to the license of TeleExpo with the channel logo in the lower right corner, broadcast on TV channel MTV Russia in the morning and night. The broadcasting of this channel ceased in October 2001 for commercial and political reasons. Channel 33 UHC and Channel 5 broadcast Euronews from October 2001 to September 2017, and then for political reasons was removed, too.

Programs

Originally, it focused on music and entertainment. In the first year of broadcasting, it broadcast the programs Alive and A-Erotic, and soon added more television series, predominantly those produced in Mexico. In May 1996 the channel began to show art films and television concerts. At the same time, TeleExpo began to be listed in all television guides. By 1998 it increasingly began to focus on music, and by that summer was broadcasting musical programming almost exclusively. On September 26, 1998, Teleexpo began to transmit MTV Russia in the morning and at night.
