In Japanese mythology, the {{nihongo|tenson kōrin|天孫降臨}} is the descent of Amaterasu's grandson Ninigi from heaven (Takamagahara) to Ashihara no Nakatsukuni; according to legend, the direct place of descent was at Takachiho-gawara in Japan.[1][2] Following the tenson kōrin Hoori, son of Ninigi's wife Konohanasakuya-hime was born.
