释义 |
The Tenth National Bank was an American bank that existed in the 19th Century. At one time, financier Jay Gould acquired a controlling interest in the bank,[1] and New York's William M. Tweed ("Boss Tweed") was one of its directors. The Tenth National Bank was also "Gould's primary vehicle to finance his move to establish a gold corner," leading up to Black Friday (1869).[2] The Bank failed in the 1870s.[3] References1. ^{{Cite web|author=Trumbore, Brian|url=http://www.buyandhold.com/bh/en/education/history/2001/gould.html|accessdate=2008-12-17|title=Jay Gould}} {{Bank-stub}}2. ^{{Cite web|author=Donohue, William F.|title=An Historical Overview of the Federal Bank Crime Laws|url=http://www.ccplaw.com/publications/2007pdf/AN_HISTORICAL_OVERVIEW_OF_THE_FEDERAL_BANK_CRIME_LAWS.PDF|accessdate=2008-12-17|publisher=Carlson, Calladine & Peterson LLP}}, p. 8 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1880/02/04/98884149.pdf|accessdate=2008-12-17|date=February 4, 1880|title=The Tenth National Bank; Jay Gould secures a referee.|publisher=The New York Times | format=PDF}} 3 : Bank failures in the United States|Economic history of the United States|Companies disestablished in the 1870s |
