It is a free publication available in public places across southern Maine and online.[4][5] The magazine is published by the Bollard Publishing owned by Chris Busby.[5]Community ImpactThe Bollard has been instrumental in bringing focus to several issues facing southern Maine that were overlooked initially by the daily press, including giving pause to the city counsels implementation of supposed "Drug Free Zones", and the declining condition of the fishing industry central to Portland. The magazine also provided unprecedented coverage of Portland's first mayoral election in over 80 years.
