It consists of the journal he kept for most of the period in which he was headmaster of Westminster School (1972– 1986),[5][6] edited by him shortly before his death in December 2006, aged 75.[7][8] It was published by Short Books on 2 April 2009.[9][10] It was serialised as BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week from 30 March to 3 April 2009, read by Tim Pigott-Smith.[11][12] See also
