Bellon goes to Victor's home and shoots him point-blank. When he tries to return to France, he discovers that his luggage and passport have been stolen. Meanwhile, on television, news accounts indicate that the police have been given a false description of him. He stays in Los Angeles to discover the truth but finds that another hit man named Lenny (Roy Scheider) is trying to kill him. As he flees one attack, Bellon hijacks a car and holds a woman (Georgia Engel) and her son (Jackie Earle Haley) hostage. Later, Bellon seeks help from a beautiful woman named Nancy (Ann-Margret), and encounters the dead gangster's widow, Jackie (Angie Dickinson). Cast
