The film's sets were designed by the art director Norman Arnold. There Goes the Bride was released on Region 2 DVD in 2009.[5]PlotRunning away from an arranged marriage, businessman's daughter Annette (Jessie Matthews) boards a train to Paris, only to have her bag stolen, and then herself suspected of theft by Max (Owen Nares), a wealthy young man sharing her carriage. Annette insists she was robbed, but cannot go into further detail because her picture is all over the newspapers, and she needs to escape. Max refuses to let her out of his sight until she can better explain, which she says she promises to do after 24 hours have passed. Farcical situations ensue, involving Max's fiance Cora (Carol Goodner), and all the while Max and Annette are falling in love. Cast
Critical receptionTV Guide gave the film one out of four stars, lamenting, "a series of barely funny screwball situations";[6] whereas Eye for Film wrote, "Matthews steals this bright little comedy. She has an effervescence and genuine likeability, which keep you watching," and concluded, "I would urge you to give this film a go - it is harmless fun."[7]References1. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023580/|title=There Goes the Bride|date=13 January 1933|website=IMDb.com|accessdate=10 June 2016|via=IMDb}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/53841|title=There Goes the Bride (1932)|website=Ftvdb.bfi.org.uk|accessdate=10 June 2016}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/there-goes-the-bride-film-review-by-caro-ness|title=There Goes The Bride (1932) Movie Review from Eye for Film|website=www.eyeforfilm.co.uk}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://archive.org/details/TheregoestheBride|title=There Goes the Bride|first=|last=Michael Balcon|date=19 August 2017|publisher=|via=Internet Archive}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.moviemail-online.co.uk/film/58168/There-Goes-the-Bride/ |title=Archived copy |accessdate=19 August 2009 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110717001703/http://www.moviemail-online.co.uk/film/58168/There-Goes-the-Bride/ |archivedate=17 July 2011 }} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tvguide.com/movies/there-goes-the-bride/review/120273/|title=There Goes The Bride|website=TVGuide.com}} 7. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/there-goes-the-bride-film-review-by-caro-ness|title=There Goes The Bride (1932) Movie Review from Eye for Film|website=www.eyeforfilm.co.uk}} External links
