A broadcast by an American television or radio news outlet also qualifies for the award. It focuses on investigative work that nurtures social and economic consciousness. The Sidney Hillman Foundation has been handing out various prizes in the discipline of journalism for more than fifty years. The Sidney Award was launched in 2009.[2] The Foundation announces the monthly winner on the second Wednesday of each month.[1] Recipients are awarded $500, a bottle of union-made wine, and a certificate designed especially for the Sidney by New Yorker cartoonist Edward Sorel.[3] Nominations can be made by anyone.[4] Winners Year | Month | Author | Title | Organization |
