}}The Travel Corporation (TTC), is a multinational group of travel and leisure companies, operating in over 70 countries and with 40 offices around the world. It employs more than 10,000 staff, and serves 1.9 million guests annually. It comprises 29 travel brands, which are independently managed and comprise tour operations, hotels and river cruise ships. [1]

The group operates a non-profit affiliate, the TreadRight Foundation, to oversee projects supporting sustainable tourism in various locations around the world.[2]

Brands

Escorted travel

The Travel Corporation's escorted touring divisions include AAT Kings (with its sub-brands Aussie Adventure and Inspiring Journeys), Brendan Vacations, Busabout, Contiki Holidays, Evan Evans Tours, Grand European Travel, HAGGiS Adventures, Insight Vacations, Shamrocker Adventures, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and Trafalgar Tours.

Independent travel

The Travel Corporation's independent travel brands allow guests to plan their own itinerary and tour locations without a guide. Their brands include Brendan Vacations in the US, New Horizons and Creative Holidays in Australia, African Travel, Inc. and Lion World Tours.

Youth travel

Contiki Holidays, HAGGiS Adventures, Shamrocker Adventures and Busabout target the 18-35 travel market.

Hotels

Red Carnation Hotels is luxury hotels group, with hotels in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, South Africa, Guernsey and Switzerland.

In August 2015 Ashford Castle, Cong, Ireland was voted world's best hotel by Virtuoso Travel Week and third best world hotel in July 2015 by Travel + Leisure magazine, US.[3]

Transportation

In addition to tour packages, The Travel Corporation owns and operates transportation services in various locations. Transportation brands include: AAT Kings and Atlas Reizen (based in The Netherlands).

Cruising

The Travel Corporation also offers river cruising packages through Uniworld. Uniworld operates river cruises across Europe, Asia and the Middle East on a number of rivers including the Rhine, Main, Danube, and the Seine River.

Investments

In South Africa, the Group is the largest shareholder of Cullinan Holdings Ltd, one of South Africa's oldest public companies, and which owns household travel brands such as Thompsons Africa, Thompsons Holidays, Thompsons Touring & Safari, Hylton Ross Tours, Planet Africa, Gateway Tours, Pentravel as well as Marine businesses Manex and Central Boating. They now own a glass company in Italy called Marrona and they own the Red carnation Hôtel chain.The Travel Corporation is also a significant shareholder in Wilderness Safaris.

Tollman family

The Travel Corporation, which has been trading for over fifty years, was founded by the current Chairman, Stanley Tollman. The Company is wholly owned by members of the Tollman family, four generations of which are actively involved with the business.

In 2008 Stanley Tollman pleaded guilty to one count of tax fraud and agreed to pay more than $105 million to the U.S. government in back taxes and various fraud penalties[4].

Beatrice and Stanley Tollman have had £50,000 political donations returned by the Conservative party, after conducting an investigation into the donations[5].

Brett Tollman, their son, pleaded guilty in 2003 to tax fraud and in 2004 was sentenced to 33 months in prison and a $3.5 million restitution fee[6].
