}}Timpview High School (THS) is a public secondary school located in Provo, Utah, United States. Timpview is a 5A school and is one of the three high schools in the Provo City School District. The current principal is Fidel Montero.[2]

History

{{Unreferenced section|date=November 2010}}

Timpview High School has had seven principals: John L. Matthews (1977–1979), Dolan B. Condie (1979–1985), Kay W. Laursen (1985–1990), Randall S. Merrill (1990–2001), George Bayles (2001–2011), Todd McKee (2011–2016), and Fidel Montero (2016–present).

The school's original name was supposed to be Valleyview, but the students protested claiming that there's not a great view of the valley from the school's location, and so the school was subsequently named Timpview. Timpview got its name from Mount Timpanogos and the "view" of the cited mountain from the school's location.

Timpview High School is located in the Edgemont neighborhood of Provo, about two miles north of the campus of Brigham Young University. Timpview is a Region 8, 5A School. It serves approximately 1,930 students in grades 9 through 12. Timpview's ethnic make-up is 68% Caucasian, 19% Latino, 4% Asian, and 9% from other minority groups.[2] The average ACT score at Timpview is 23.8.
