}} Tocoman is a Finnish software company specialized in building information model (BIM) or Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) based quantity take-off, scheduling, and cost estimating. Tocoman was founded in 1989 by Mr. Esko Enkovaara and is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Today, the company is owned by Mr. Esko Enkovaara, key personnel, and Tekla. Tocoman was the first company to offer a commercial product for integrating a building information model and an estimating software. Currently it is widely used especially in Finland and Scandinavia, which have been the global pioneers for BIM deployment and utilization. The software has been used in over 500 construction projects, across 10 countries and 3 continents. ProductsOverviewTocoman solution is unique because it enables users to choose both modeling and construction applications (estimating and scheduling) independently of each other. In other words, Tocoman integrates user's existing modeling and construction applications. This decreases the time and resources needed for implementing the BIM based methods. Tocoman iLinkTocoman iLink is a plugin to a building modeling application. It is used to calculate quantities either from designer's or contractor's building models. These quantities can be used as such or with the Tocoman Express product, in estimating and scheduling applications. As of 2010 Tocoman iLink is available for Autodesk Revit, Graphisoft ArchiCAD and Tekla Structures. Tocoman ExpressTocoman Express is an enterprise application integration and/or middleware solution for managing quantity information in a construction project. The solution contains a server application, which acts as a centralized data warehouse for construction quantity information, which is typically produced from a building information model using the Tocoman iLink application. The quantities at the server can be accessed either directly from the construction application or using a separate desktop application, which enables to create various files used for exchanging construction quantity information.
