}}Toyotamaphimeia machikanensis is an extinct tomistomine crocodylian from Pleistocene-aged strata of Japan. It is closely related to the false gharial, and lived 400,000 years ago, and was originally described as a member of the same genus, Tomistoma. T. machikanensis was a fairly large crocodylian with a 1 m (3.3 ft) skull and a total length up to 8 m (26 ft).[1] Sources1. ^{{cite web |url=http://paleopedia.free.fr/croco_eusuchia.html |title=Archived copy |accessdate=2012-02-08 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120208082125/http://paleopedia.free.fr/croco_eusuchia.html |archivedate=2012-02-08 |df= }}
