William M and her sister ships' measure {{GRT|189|link=off}}.[1] They are propelled by Z-drive pods, powered by twin EMD 16-645 engines rated at {{convert|4,000|shp}}. The tugs mount fore and aft fire-fighting monitors, capable of pumping a total of {{convert|3500|USgal/min|m3/h}}.
