Lillie B was built in 1881 at New Orleans, Louisiana. The U.S. Navy leased her on 20 April 1917 from her owner, E. Macrenaris of Tarpon Springs, Florida, for use as a patrol boat during World War I. Lillie B saw no active naval service, and the Navy returned her to her owner on 5 September 1917. Notes1. ^Sources disagree on Lillie B{{'}}s section patrol number. The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships (at http://www.history.navy.mil/danfs/l6/lillie_b.htm) and NavSource Online (at http://www.navsource.org/archives/12/171502.htm) provide SP-1502 as her number, but NavSource Online in a duplicate entry for Lillie B (at http://www.navsource.org/archives/12/171520.htm) also states that her number was SP-1520.
