Uttara Mhatre Kher (29 December 1963) is a former model and beauty pageant contestant from India.^[1] She won the Navy Queen Ball in 1981. In 1982, she was crowned Femina Miss India World and represented India at the Miss World 1982 pageant.^[2]

She has been a part of over a hundred commercials and print campaigns. She was also on the covers of many magazines.

She is married to Adwait Kher (also a former model and son of renowned actress Usha Kiran). So making Tanvi Azmi her sister-in-law. She has two daughters Saiyami Kher and Saunskruti Kher. Saunskruti Kher made her debut in Marathi Film industry with Swami Public Ltd.. Both her daughters are now working towards their debuts in the Hindi Film industry.

After her marriage, she and her husband quit the glamour world and moved to Nashik. In Nashik they owned three restaurants named Tandoor, Aangan and The Bombay Talkies. They also ventured into the furniture business and conduct regular exhibitions in Mumbai. They now own a beautiful ten-room farm stay in Nashik called Utopia Farmstay.

In 2006 she joined Maharashtra Navnirman Sena as a head of the women’s wing and also the environmental wing. Disillusioned with party politics,{{Vague|date=June 2010}} she quit the party in 2009. Since then, she has been involved with many environmental issues independently. She is also a trustee of Nashik Run, a run for charity.
