The mountain is a nunatak standing in the middle of the glacier under the Leirhøi mountain. Its late ascent is due to this remote location, and the rather challenging approach. The nameThe first element is the name of the glacier Veobreen, the last element is the finite form of hest m 'horse' (several mountains in Norway are named after animals). The name of the glacier is a compound of the rivername Veo and the finite form of bre m 'glacier'. The rivername (Old Norse Viða) is derived from viðr m 'wood, forest'. {{coord|61.5922|N|8.47278|E|source:kolossus-nowiki|display=title}}{{Oppland-geo-stub}} 1 : Mountains of Oppland |
