Veverská Bítýška is a town in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

The town covers an area of {{convert|13.65|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 2,953 (as at 31 December 2008).

Veverská Bítýška lies approximately {{convert|16|km|mi|0}} north-west of Brno and {{convert|171|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Prague.

Previously a market town (městys), Veverská Bítýška has been given the town status effective 27 August 2018 by the Czech Parliament.[1]

Personalities

  • Marie Kudeříková (1921 - 1943), a member of the Czech resistance to Nazi occupation, spent a part of her life in Veverská Bítýška.
