It was released on May 18, 2009. BackgroundViolent Things was written by Dallon Weekes (The Brobecks/Panic! at the Disco/I Don't Know How But They Found Me) and recorded by producer Casey Crescenzo in his home basement studio in Boston, MA over a period of two weeks. It features Darren Robinson of Phantom Planet on guitar. Though the album has received stellar reviews by music blogs all over the world, it has remained largely ignored by mainstream media and record labels{{Citation needed|date=October 2018}}.
