Until 1991 the village's name was Okhchogly or Okhchoglu ({{lang-az|Oxçuoğlu}}, {{lang-ru|Охчоглу}}).[1][2][3] PopulationAccording to "Caucasian Calendar" of 1912, 930 people, mainly Azerbaijanis shown in the calendar as Karapapaks, lived in village Okhchoglu of Kars Okrug of Kars Oblast.[4] Population per years is the following.[5]
