Lines

Wada Station is served by the Ōu Main Line, and is located 285.4 km from the terminus of the line at Fukushima Station.{{Citation needed|date=October 2013}}

Wada Station has two opposed side platforms, connected to the station building by a footbridge. The route of the Akita Shinkansen runs through this station.

History

Wada Station opened on October 1, 1903 as a station on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR).[1] The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987.[1] A new station building was completed in February 2003.{{Citation needed|date=October 2013}}

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2015, the station was used by an average of 325 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[2]
