Wada Station has two opposed side platforms, connected to the station building by a footbridge. The route of the Akita Shinkansen runs through this station.

History

Wada Station opened on October 1, 1903 as a station on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR).^[1] The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987.^[1] A new station building was completed in February 2003.{{Citation needed|date=October 2013}}

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2015, the station was used by an average of 325 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).^[2]
