Formerly on Birch Road, the school is now located on Old Clough Lane, and serves Walkden, Worsley, Linnyshaw, Roe Green, Ellenbrook and Boothstown. In September 2011, the school moved into a brand new building off Old Clough Lane[1] as part of the government's BSF (Building Schools for the Future) agenda, a process whoes early planning stages had begun in November 2006. The culmination of that work is a building that offers accommodation for 1,500 pupils (compared to 1,200 pupils at the Birch Road site). Subjects are organised into five different zones within the school. These include:
Pupils are placed into year groups: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 & Year 11. Each pupil has a Form Tutor and a Head of Year. The new building is available for the community to use out of school hours and this is managed by Salford Community Leisure.
