It is located to the southeast of the city centre. Te Henui Stream runs through the suburb and State Highway 3 forms its western boundary.[1] The population was 1,698 in the 2006 Census, a decrease of 60 from 2001.[2] The suburb began as a railway settlement.[3] Education
