Local programming filled the remaining timeslots 6pm-9pm on Friday evenings and 6pm-1am on weekends.[4] WTJU terminated the local marketing agreement effective August 16, 2017, citing financial reasons. WHAN returned to a locally programmed music format, branded "102.9 The Mater", which it describes as a mix of classic Southern rock and 1990s alternative rock.[5][6] TranslatorIn addition to the main station, WHAN is relayed by an FM translator to replicate the daytime signal of 1430 AM on the FM dial 24 hours a day.[7] {{RadioTranslators| call1 = W275BQ | freq1 = 102.9 FM | fid1 = 155027 | watts1 = 250 watts | haat1 = 96.9 | class1 = D | city1 = Ashland, Virginia | notes1 = }} References1. ^{{FCC history cards|8438|WIVE}} [8][9][10]2. ^{{cite web|url=http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/91757/wtju-adds-richmond-rimshot/|title=WTJU Adds Richmond Rimshot|date=January 28, 2015|accessdate=July 21, 2015|work=RadioBB Networks|last=Venta|first=Lance}} 3. ^{{cite news|newspaper=Hanover Herald-Progress|location=Ashland, Virginia|publisher=Lakeway Publishers, Inc.|title=U.Va.-owned station to take over WHAN|url=http://www.herald-progress.com/?p=19494|date=January 21, 2015|accessdate=July 21, 2015}} 4. ^{{cite news|last1=Collins|first1=Anna|title=Student radio partnership brings VCU programming to Ashland FM station|url=https://news.vcu.edu/article/Student_radio_partnership_brings_VCU_programming_to_Ashland_FM|work=VCU News|date=12 March 2015|language=en}} 5. ^{{cite web|last1=Venta|first1=Lance|title=WHAN Drops WTJU Simulcast To Launch Local Community Format - RadioInsight|url=https://radioinsight.com/headlines/119340/whan-drops-wtju-simulcast-launch-local-community-format/|website=RadioInsight|date=17 August 2017}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=About us|url=https://www.whanradio.net/about-us.html|website=WHAN}} 7. ^{{cite web|url=http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?call=W250BG|title=W250BG Facility Record|accessdate=July 21, 2015|work=Federal Communications Commission, audio division}} 8. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=http://www1.arbitron.com/sip/displaySip.do?surveyID=SP15&band=am&callLetter=WHAN|title=Arbitron Station Information Profiles|accessdate=July 21, 2015|work=Nielsen Audio/Nielsen Holdings}} 9. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/call_hist.pl?Facility_id=8438&Callsign=WHAN|title=Call Sign History|accessdate=July 21, 2015|work=Federal Communications Commission, audio division}} 10. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/amq?call=WHAN|title=WHAN Facility Record|accessdate=July 21, 2015|work=Federal Communications Commission, audio division}} }} External links
