The whip-fin wrasse (so named for the long filament extending from the top of the dorsal fin), Cirrhilabrus filamentosus, is a species of wrasse endemic to Indonesia, where it is only known from the waters of the Java Sea. This species inhabits reefs and can be found at depths from {{convert|10|to|35|m|ft|abbr=on}}. It can reach {{convert|8|cm|in|abbr=on}} in total length.^[2]
