Woolston Technical was a semi-professional association football club based in Woolston, New Zealand. They were competing in the Robbie's Premier Football League winning the 2010 Matson's Premier Football League.

Club history

Christchurch City

Between 2000 and 2002, Woolston WMC and Christchurch Technical briefly merged to provide a strong team to take part in the New Zealand National Soccer League. The amalgamation only lasted for two years before reverting to its two founder clubs. The composite team's place in the national league was taken by Canterbury United, a team formed as a "superclub" fed by all of Christchurch's teams. This team should not be confused with the earlier Christchurch City AFC, one of the several clubs which merged in 1970 to become Christchurch United.

Christchurch Technical & Woolston W.M.C.

Woolston Technical was formed in 2007, as a result of a merger between of Christchurch Technical and Woolston Working Men's Club. The two sides had previously merged briefly between 2000 and 2002, playing under the name Christchurch City.

Earthquake and Merge

Early in 2012 the club merge with Cashmere Wanderers to form Cashmere Technical. The two clubs had agreed to work together in early 2011, and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which devastated their home city and resulted in the loss of many playing facilities hastened their merger into a combined side.
