Though not sold in the US or Canada and some 40 kilos heavier than the original air-cooled Ténéré from the early 1980s, many fans saw the 660Z as a return to form for Yamaha, following the demise of the air-cooled Teneres and the less popular 5-valve iteration which replaced them. The low-rpm electronic fuel injection glitches present in previously listed machines using the same, 660 engine were ironed out and the 660Z could reliably average 25kpl (72mpg Imperial, 60mpg US) which equated to 600 km or nearly 400 miles on a single tank. Particularly with its strong subframe, large tank and effective fairing. At the EICMA 2016 the concept bike T7 was unveiled – a dirt-oriented enduro,[2] and an official press release indicates additionally the coming of a more street oriented supermoto.[3] References1. ^{{cite web | url= http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Yamaha/Yamaha-XT660Z-Tenere-2008-current/ | publisher= Motorcycle News | title= Motorcycle Reviews - Yamaha XT660Z Tenere (2008-current) | accessdate= 6 July 2010}} 2. ^{{Citation |last=Newland |first=Richard |date=November 7, 2016 |title=Milan show: Yamaha T7 concept is world's maddest MT-07 |work=MCN |url=http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2016/november/yamaha-t7-tenere-concept/ |accessdate=November 24, 2016}} 3. ^{{Citation |title=T7 Concept |work=Yamaha United Kingdom |url=https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/adventure/t7-concept.aspx |accessdate=November 24, 2016 |quote=A new chapter from the book of legends will be on the street – and on the dirt – from 2018.}} External links
