BiographyYang Xiao obtained his B.S. degree in computational mathematics and its applied software in Jilin University, China. He obtained DAGSI Ph.D. Full Fellowship which supported his graduate studies in USA, and thereafter he obtained his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering in Wright State University, Ohio, USA. Dr. Yang Xiao worked in industry as a MAC (Medium Access Control) architect involving the IEEE 802.11 standard enhancement work before he joined academia. Dr. Yang Xiao currently is a Full Professor of Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, USA. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, USA, and his B.S. and M.S. degrees in computational mathematics at Jilin University, Changchun, China. His current research interests include Cyber Physical Systems, Internet of Things, Security, Wired/Wireless Networks, Smart Grid, and Telemedicine. He has published over 200 SCI-indexed journal papers (including over 50 IEEE/ACM transactions papers) and over 200 EI indexed refereed conference papers and book chapters related to these research areas. His research has been supported by the U.S. NSF, U.S. Army Research, GENI, Fleet Industrial Supply Center-San Diego, FIATECH, and The University of Alabama's Research Grants Committee. Dr. Xiao was a Voting Member of IEEE 802.11 Working Group from 2001 to 2004. He is a Fellow of IET (previously IEE) (FIET). He is an IEEE Senior Member since 2004. He served (s) as a Guest Editor for over 20 times for different international journals, including IEEE Network, IEEE Wireless Communications, and ACM/Springer Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET). In addition, he has been involved in organizing over 70 conferences. He served (s) the General/Honorary Chair/Co-Chair for over 34 conferences/workshops. He served (s) the TPC Chair or TPC Co-Chair for over 21 conferences. He served (s) the Symposium Co-Chair for 7 symposia.
