The area of the district is {{convert|3831|km2|sp=us}}.[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Yurla.[1] Population: {{ru-census|p2010=9,609|p2002=12,162|p1989=15,889}} The population of Yurla accounts for 42.6% of the district's total population.
