This was confirmed in 1996. The respective clusters are labeled NGC 2451 A and NGC 2451 B, and they are located at distances of 600 and 1,200 light-years, respectively.[2] References1. ^1 2 3 4 5 {{cite web|last1=Seligman|first1=Courtney|title=Celestial Atlas: NGC Objects: NGC 2450 - 2499|url=http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc24a.htm#2451|website=cseligman.com|accessdate=10 July 2015|archiveurl=https://www.webcitation.org/6Zuy1gwMu?url=http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc24a.htm#2451|archivedate=10 July 2015|deadurl=yes|df=}} 2. ^{{cite journal | author=Pöhnl, H. | author2=Maitzen, H.
