Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. The village has a population of 1,700. It lies approximately {{convert|16|km|mi|0}} south of the regional capital, which is Wrocław. Żórawina is the site of one of Poland's tallest radio masts, the Żórawina radio transmitter.
