The show launched in 2006 and operates out of Al Jazeera's Asia bureau in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Team101 East has a strong and diverse international team of in-house staff as well as freelance contributors. The in-house team include Senior Reporter/Producers Drew Ambrose and Mary Ann Jolley, Producers: Jenni Henderson and Annie Burns-Pieper, Digital Producer: Rhiona-Jade Armont, Senior Producers: Mavourneen Dineen, Liz Gooch, Editors: Andy Mees and Badrul Hisham, Senior Cameraman: Craig Hansen and Production Executive Susanna Low. Other regular contributing Reporters and Producers include: Karishma Vyas, Aela Callan, Lianain Films, Pailin Wedel, Trevor Bormann, Mellissa Fung and Parky Krishnan. 101 East’s Executive Producer is Sharon Roobol. Awards101 East has won a number of industry awards including two Walkley awards, an AIB award, a Royal Television Society award, Human Rights Awards, and medals from the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.[1] 101 Eas has also been nominated for three Emmy Awards.
