Meanwhile, Tamotsu Kato (Shota Matsuda) is a member of Houkokukai, an ultra-nationalist group, who is also searching for the same five men.[1][1][2] Cast
ProductionPlans for the film were made in 2009. Although the film was a Japanese production, approximately 90% of dialogue was to be in Chinese. Filming was scheduled to start in November 2012, in various locations in Japan and Taiwan.[4] The film was scheduled to be released in Fall 2013.[1][5] During the filming process, the set in Taiwan was to recreate Yokohama as it appeared in 1905. The film was backed by Hong Kong-based film studio Sil-Metropole, and was to be co-distributed by Shochiku and Prenom H. The project was estimated to cost $10 million, and was Kurosawa's largest film to date.[6] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web|date=9 September 2012|url=http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/09/tony-leung-matsuda-shota-and-maeda-atsuko-to-star-in-kurosawa-kiyoshis-new-movie-1905/|title=Tony Leung, Matsuda Shota, and Maeda Atsuko to star in Kurosawa Kiyoshi's new movie '1905'|work=Tokyohive}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|date=11 September 2012|url=http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/entertainment/view/1225301/1/.html|title=Tony Leung to play loanshark in Japanese film debut with Atsuko Maeda, Shota Matsuda|work=Channel News Asia}} 3. ^{{cite web|url= http://sankei.jp.msn.com/entertainments/news/130225/ent13022512470019-n1.htm|script-title= ja:中堅映画会社のプレノン・アッシュが破産 尖閣問題の影響でトニー・レオンが出演見送り|trans-title= Film company Prenom H goes bankrupt – Tony Leung's involvement cancelled due to Senkaku dispute|date= 25 February 2013|work= MSN Sankei News|publisher= The Sankei Shimbun & Sankei Digital|location= Japan|language= Japanese|archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20130226012117/http://sankei.jp.msn.com/entertainments/news/130225/ent13022512470019-n1.htm|archivedate= 2013-02-26|accessdate= 26 February 2013|title= Archived copy|dead-url= yes|df= }} 4. ^1 {{cite web |url= http://www.daily.co.jp/newsflash/gossip/2013/02/25/1p_0005768528.shtml|script-title=ja:大 中 小 文字サイズ 前田敦子ら出演予定映画が製作中止に|trans-title=Film featuring Atsuko Maeda to be cancelled|date= 25 February 2013|work= Daily Sports Online|publisher= Daily Sports|location= Japan|language= Japanese|accessdate= 26 February 2013}} 5. ^{{cite web|date=10 September 2012|url=http://thefilmstage.com/news/from-2046-to-%E2%80%981905%E2%80%99-%E2%80%93-tony-leung-making-japanese-debut-with-crime-period-piece/|title=From '2046' to '1905' – Tony Leung Making Japanese Debut With Crime Period Piece|work=The Film Stage}} 6. ^1 2 {{cite web|date=11 September 2012|url=http://www.screendaily.com/news/asia-pacific/kurosawa-to-direct-japan-china-co-production-starring-leung/5046442.article|title=Kurosawa to direct Japan-China co-production starring Leung|work=Screen Daily}} External links
