The Cambridge University by-election was a Parliamentary by-election. It returned two Member of Parliament to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post voting system. VacancySamuel Butcher had been Unionist MP for the seat of Cambridge University since the 1906 General Elections. He died on 29 December 1910 at the age of 60. Electoral historyThis was a safe Conservative constituency in which challenger rarely appeared. At both the General Elections in 1910, the two Conservative candidates were returned unopposed.
