During the 1989–90 English football season, Everton F.C. competed in the Football League First Division. They finished 6th in the table with 59 points. The Toffees also advanced to the 5th round of the FA Cup and the 4th round of the League Cup.

1. ^Liverpool were banned by UEFA from its competitions from the season 1985–86 on for 10 years, because of the Heysel Disaster in 1985, involving Liverpool fans. The ban was eventually lifted for the season 1991–92.
2. ^Because of the 1985 UEFA ban, no English clubs played European matches between the 1985/86 and 1989/90 season, and England was therefore ranked as 25th for the 1990/91-season in Europe which gave England only 1 spot in UEFA Cup.
