释义 |
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council elections were held on Thursday, 4 May 1990, with one third of the council up for election as well as vacancies in Great Horton & Ilkley to be elected. Labour had suffered a defection prior to the election in the University ward, with the sitting councillor attempting, unsuccessfully, to defend it as a Conservative. Labour regained control of the council from no overall control following numerous gains from the Conservatives.[1][2] Election result{{Election Summary Begin|title = Bradford Local Election Result 1990[1]}}{{Election Summary Party||party = Labour Party (UK) |seats = 24 |gain = 4 |loss = 0 |net = {{increase}}4 |seats % = 75.0 |votes % = 50.4 |votes = 91,284 |plus/minus = +7.3% }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Conservative Party (UK) |seats = 8 |gain = 0 |loss = 4 |net = {{decrease}}4 |seats % = 25.0 |votes % = 36.1 |votes = 65,322 |plus/minus = -7.6% }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Liberal Democrats (UK) |seats = 0 |gain = 0 |loss = 0 |net = {{nochange}} |seats % = 0.0 |votes % = 9.1 |votes = 16,514 |plus/minus = -1.3% }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Green Party of England and Wales |seats = 0 |gain = 0 |loss = 0 |net = {{nochange}} |seats % = 0.0 |votes % = 4.0 |votes = 7,220 |plus/minus = +3.7% }}{{Election Summary Party| |party = Independent (politician) |seats = 0 |gain = 0 |loss = 0 |net = {{nochange}} |seats % = 0.0 |votes % = 0.4 |votes = 663 |plus/minus = +0.2% }}{{Election box end}} This result had the following consequences for the total number of seats on the council after the elections:
