释义 |
An election to Ceredigion District Council was held in May 1991.[1] It was preceded by the 1987 election and followed, after local government reorganization, by the first election to Ceredigion County Council in 1995. On the same day there were elections to the other local authorities and community councils in Wales. {{TOC right}}OverviewThe Independents remained the largest group with a number of councillors elected unopposed.[2] The uncontested wards were mainly in rural areas.[3] However, some wards were keenly contested, including Cardigan.[4] ResultsAberaeron (one seat){{Election box begin | title= Aberaeron 1991}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Independent (politician) |candidate = Wyn Lewis |votes = unopposed |percentage = |change = }}{{Election box hold with party link no swing| |winner = Independent (politician) |swing = }}{{Election box end}} Aberporth (one seat){{Election box begin | title= Aberporth 1991}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Independent (politician) |candidate = William James Granville Varney* |votes = unopposed |percentage = |change = }}{{Election box hold with party link no swing| |winner = Independent (politician) |swing = }}{{Election box end}} Aberystwyth East (two seats){{Election box begin | title= Aberystwyth East 1991}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Plaid Cymru |candidate = Hywel Griffiths Evans* |votes = 588 |percentage = |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Plaid Cymru |candidate = Gareth Butler* |votes = 395 |percentage = |change = }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Liberal Democrats (UK) |candidate = Nicholas Bennett |votes = 278 |percentage = |change = }}{{Election box hold with party link| |winner = Plaid Cymru |swing = }}{{Election box hold with party link| |winner = Plaid Cymru |swing = }}{{Election box end}} Aberystwyth North (two seats){{Election box begin | title= Aberystwyth North 1991}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Liberal Democrats (UK) |candidate = M.
