It was held on 10 April 2011 over a distance of {{convert|258|km|1|abbr=off}} and was the ninth race of the 2011 UCI World Tour season. {{ct|GRM|2011}}'s Johan Vansummeren claimed victory after making a solo breakaway from a four-man group with {{convert|15|km|1|abbr=off}} remaining, holding on to win by 19 seconds at the velodrome in Roubaix.[1][2] He also held on to victory, despite riding the final {{convert|5|km|1|abbr=off}} with a flat rear tyre.[1] Second place went to {{ct|LEO|2011}} rider and defending race winner Fabian Cancellara who caught the remaining riders from the breakaway – Maarten Tjallingii of {{ct|RAB|2011}}, Lars Bak of {{ct|THR|2011}} and Grégory Rast of {{ct|RSH|2011}} – and outsprinted them in Roubaix.
