They were led by second-year head coach John Grass and played their home games at Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium. They were a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). Jacksonville State finished the season 13–2 overall with an 8–0 mark in OVC play to win the conference championship.
