They were led by tenth-year head coach Rick Stockstill and played their home games at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They finished the season 7–6, 6–2 in C-USA play to finish in a tie for second place in the East Division. They were invited to the Bahamas Bowl where they lost to Western Michigan.
