The day is marked by the Chabad community with public gatherings and other commemorations.[1] HistoryChaya Mushka Schneerson, the wife of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Rebbe of the Chabad Hasidic movement, died on the Hebrew day of 22nd of Shvat, 5788 (February 10, 1988). Chaya Mushka is known in the Chabad community as "the Rebbetzin".[2][3]The anniversary of her death, or "yartzeit", is marked each year by the Chabad community by public gatherings, or "farbrengens".[4] The day is also marked by a number of Chabad girls and women's conventions.[5] Ohel visitsMany Chabad Hasidim visit the grave of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka on the 22nd of Shvat.
