6fusion is a dataservices company headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina that enables a Utility Approach to IT—standardizing the economic measurement of IT infrastructure and cloud services, providing IT economic transparency to the global market, and helping end-users make better informed infrastructure decisions. With 6fusion’s UC6 Platform, organizations can view and manage the Total Cost of Consumption (TCC) of their business services in real time and achieve a higher level of cost optimization, forecasting accuracy and business agility. 6fusion uses a patented single unit of measure of IT infrastructure called the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) that provides a common view of IT consumption, agnostic of underlying technology or vendors. 6fusion enables baselining, benchmarking and budgeting of business service consumption across execution venues, and supports dynamic cost optimization strategies.

6fusion's products metering, analytics and reporting tools are used by Enterprise organizations, IT service providers, and cloud brokers.

History

The company has raised a total of $10M in two rounds of funding from Intersouth Partners and Grotech Ventures.

Products

6fusion's product portfolio is made up of the following:

  • Cloud Resource Meter which gives users the ability to meter virtual machine resource consumption in a cloud or on-premises environment providing insight into resource consumption.
  • Cost Matching Engine which advances infrastructure decision support by matching on-premises workload consumption and costs with IaaS instance types and costs. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the first cloud service provider supported by Cost Matching Engine.[1]
